“Yes.” It’s such a simple word. And it holds such promise, such power. However for many of us, as children, “yes” was not always our immediate answer or attitude—it was often “no”. We would rebel and resist things, people and circumstances—all part of seeing how far the developing sense of self could go. And so, saying “no” to life became an ongoing inner directive and reaction. It continues to this day, sapping our energy, eroding our happiness, even undermining our best efforts in areas that we enjoy.
Yet, this habit of inwardly saying “no” can simply be let go…and when it dissolves, what is uncovered and revealed is the feeling of “yes”, the sense of “I can”, an inner confidence, an openness that allows life to unfold with that energetic confirmation: “Yes!” The results are manifold: aliveness, resourcefulness, clarity and effortless action.
“Yes” is unconditional love. It is boundlessness. It is all allowing, all welcoming. It is an aspect of our basic nature—our very beingness. As Lester Levenson used to say, “There’s nowhere you need to go, nothing you need to do, in order to be what you already are.” Are you? Yes!
Now, allow this life-affirming energy to flow throughout your life, throughout all Life. Every time you let go, every time you notice and welcome what is as it is, both the ‘yes’ and the ‘no’ dissolve. And All is well.
